filming #1

On 28th November
What were we filming:
The focus was to get edits of the main character in the class room scene which included the confrontation with his teacher, the other class mate’s physical and verbal assault on the protagonist.

Props:
Camera - Cameron is bringing it from home
Tripod- Jahquani bringing it from home
Paper Bags –  hand made by Kemika
Pen and Paper - available anywhere at school

Characters:
Paper bag heads: Merissa, Ryan, Keith, Aaron, Lynette, Stephanie, Deon
Teacher: Terry
Main Character: Emmanuel

Mis en scene:
v  Lighting
Black and white, so lighting isn’t a problem we use natural light and at times blocked it out by using the blinds
v  Objects
Having the main character use pen and paper seated at a desk will show him as a student

v  Costume and Make-up
Normal school clothes/normal work clothes for the teacher; no make-up was used on anyone by our production team. The main character however has to wear the same clothing within every scene.

v  Shots
Mainly close ups & Mid shots

Problems:
Our group had a major argument which nearly led to us not filming.
There was a miscommunication between us with the time we would be filming.
I went to school believing that everyone else was there but was told non one had come in so I then left to go home and complete some work. Jahquani thought we were filming during periods 4-5 which is around 1 o clock which is her usual time for arriving later than the normal school time due to having a study license. Marios & Cameron wanted to film during the first 3 periods of the day as they were available.

This caused some arguments and disagreements
However after making some more paper bag heads we came to school and sorted thing out with Cameron. However Marios wasn’t as cooperative and we didn’t actually speak throughout the whole of filming.
We managed to complete the filming without any further arguments & plan to film again shortly after.

We have identified the problem which is communication & plan to text each other the day before to make sure we know what is happening the day of filming.
